Iuri Waitzberg is a Brazilian artist based in São Paulo, whose practice moves between tattooing and painting as two expressions of the same visual language. His work is guided by a search for balance between precision and emotion, structure and intuition.
Working as a professional tattoo artist since 2018, Iuri develops custom, thoughtful pieces that respect the body as a living surface. Each tattoo is approached as a collaborative process, where composition, flow, and meaning are carefully considered. His tattoos are marked by restraint, clarity, and a timeless quality, often drawing from botanical forms, classical references, and symbolic imagery.
Parallel to his tattoo practice, Iuri maintains an ongoing body of work in painting. His paintings function as meditative spaces, where figures, symbols, and landscapes explore themes of presence, impermanence, and inner movement. While existing outside the body, these works share the same sensibility found in his tattoos: quiet intensity, simplicity, and emotional depth.
Influenced by artists such as Michelangelo, Bouguereau, and Picasso, as well as by close observation of nature, Iuri seeks to create modern and sentimental compositions that resonate beyond the visual, inviting contemplation and connection.
Based in São Paulo, Brazil, Iuri is constantly traveling and developing projects internationally.
